Hey everyone, I just watched this great new film from Aaron Russo-Freedom To Fascism, which exposes the federal income tax fraud and the New World Order. I suggest you watch it too.

I'm surprised this is the first thread we've seen about this. This is old as hell by now.
I listened to an interview with Russo and his idea instead of using taxes was for the government to print money. He thinks the government only takes taxes from us, as opposed to printing money, because it wants the control of us.
This guy is nuts. 10/26/2006 7:26:30 AM |

The types of people who would argue that the constitution says taxes are illegal.
It's like if somebody comes up to you and says "The sky is yellow." You don't argue with that, not unless you've got a lot of time on your hands. 10/26/2006 10:05:44 AM |

Well, just keep listening to the mainstream news then and trust your loving government! I just thought I would post this because we are losing our freedom as Americans and unfortunately our Bill of Rights will be nothing but toilet paper in the future because not enough people are waking up to government corruption and state sponsored terrorism. Go ahead, call me nuts, but in the upcoming years you will begin to see that this is not fanatasy but an awful dystopic reality. And for GrumpGOP---you are real intelligent and what Sean Hannity calls a Great American. And I never heard of renting a gun. 10/26/2006 10:38:46 AM |

if the US government controls the US media, then why do most overseas news outlets say the same things, even ones rated higher by Reporters w/o Borders?
oh, thats right, NWO controlls all news that isn't a blog or a site that can be updated by anyone and has no checks on sources (indymedia, inforwars).
Why do I even bother?

am i understanding this correctly in that he suggests that taxes serve no fiscal purpose, and that there is an unlimited amount of money--all we have to do is print it?10/27/2006 9:41:18 AM |

The assertion is that taxes are used by the gov't to merely redistribute wealth. The bulk of the money used to pay for wars and things is created out of thin air by the federal reserve. Hard to argue agaisnt this.
If anyone can find an actual law requiring us to pay federal income taxes, please let us know. The 16th amendment (whose ratification according to the film seems to be in question) merely authorizes the creation of a direct, graduated income tax. But did the congress ever get around to actually passing anything that the Supreme Court could rule on?
Of course an everyday citizen would be crushed by the fed. gov't if he refused to pay income tax. But the crushing would be merely a totalitarian act of force, and not an enforcement of any type of legally passed law...according to Mr. Russo.10/28/2006 1:07:36 AM |

What does the Supreme Court need to rule on?
I mean, a ratified Amendment trumps the SC, right? 10/28/2006 1:09:56 AM |

The Revenue Act of 1913
Upheld by Brushaber v. Union Pacific Railroad
So, there's that.

^ OK, Agreed. But..upon further inquiry, I find that these "You-Don't-Have-To-Pay-Income-Tax" groups are zeroing in on is the Internal Revenue Section of U.S. Code. In this section, they claim that the law doesn't include everyone to pay income tax.
Quote : | " TITLE 26 > Subtitle F > CHAPTER 75 > Subchapter A > PART I > § 7203 § 7203. Willful failure to file return, supply information, or pay tax
Any person required under this title to pay any estimated tax or tax, or required by this title or by regulations made under authority thereof to make a return, keep any records, or supply any information, who willfully fails to pay such estimated tax or tax, make such return, keep such records, or supply such information, at the time or times required by law or regulations, shall, in addition to other penalties provided by law, be guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction thereof, shall be fined not more than $25,000 ($100,000 in the case of a corporation), or imprisoned not more than 1 year, or both, together with the costs of prosecution. In the case of any person with respect to whom there is a failure to pay any estimated tax, this section shall not apply to such person with respect to such failure if there is no addition to tax under section 6654 or 6655 with respect to such failure. In the case of a willful violation of any provision of section 6050I, the first sentence of this section shall be applied by substituting “felony” for “misdemeanor” and “5 years” for “1 year”. " |
It seems they are claiming that the section's definition of a "person" wouldn't include journeymen workers and unincorporated contractees..I guess.
Quote : | "Section 7343. Definition of term "person"
The term "person" as used in this chapter includes an officer or employee of a corporation, or a member or employee of a partnership, who as such officer, employee, or member is under a duty to perform the act in respect of which the violation occurs.

It does seem to be a bit niggling, and I would be hesitant to balance my financial future on the claim. But I did find the interview with the Juror very interesting. The gov't failed to provide the jury with the law that the tax nonpayer failed to follow... and they set him free.10/28/2006 11:37:53 AM |
