I want to see who all you Chuck haters think we could get to replace him. I just don't think a lot of people look ahead when you say OUT!

We are NCSU...a Basketball school that has great Football facilities and that is it. Are we an attractive job to coaches? I'm not sure we are.

With all that said, I think Chuck should be here as long as he and his team don't give up or we could upgrade. He hasn't performed as well as I think possible but seriously could we get anyone better?

I'll start with the name Shane Montgomery (Miami, OHIO)...which I think is a down grade at this point...he still needs more time.

I don't see how we wouldn't be. We have top notch facilities, great fan support, especially if you can give the fans something to support. Somewhat decent name recognition. Sure we aren't a "powerhouse," but then we also don't have as high of expectations as all the traditional power houses. If you could have 8 or 9 wins on a regular basis, with the occasional finish higher than 4th in the ACC, most fans would be happy.

How many years of rebuilding are we going to have? What exactly are we rebuilding? Even with Rivers we still never bettered 4th in the conference, which was about where O'Cain had us before he was axed.

we haven't been invited to bowls over "better" teams because of our traveling fanbase? And attendance hasn't really dropped off overly much over the past couple years despite going 5-6 and 6-5 (regular season) and not doing overly well this season. Maybe great wasn't the right word, but I would say it is pretty good.

the answer to that is Philip Rivers.

doesn't change the stats, but without the leading passer ever we would never have won those games... Chuck is good at recruiting, but he is a terrible prep and play calling coach. (His whole coaching crew falls back to him.)

I agree with the GT game and the UNC and ECU games...I'll agree with the Clemson prediction if the game is later than noon. We don't show up until 2:30 no matter what time the game starts.

Going back to the topic, maybe Tyrone Willingham. Born and raised in NC down east of here, and was Special Teams coach for 3 years here in the mid 80s. He could be done at Washington in a few years, like Chuck might be here
If we can't get Cowher or some other big name, I'd rather have an offense-based head coach for a change.

^OK, 10 championships versus a few more. Make a comparison 5 or 6 years ago and we have more championships than Dook. 20 years ago we clearly outclassed the history of their program. Until our football success challenges that, we are historically a basketball school...albeit the only one in the Big Four with big time college football support (we just can't get is done on the field )

Yeah, I was going to say that Philly and NYC might have a bit of a problem with that. Good old CCNY.

As far as us being a bball school. Yeah, we are traditionally. That tradition got hampered.. a lot.. by the NCAA sanctions that set our program back a decade. The fan support has certainly shifted. We can't sell out half the ACC games in the RBC and we sell out EVERY football game..
