yeah, i read that article too. all i see is "coach speak", and he could very well be leveraging to force wv to come up with the money to build upgrades quicker. calipari was doing the same shit with us.

If a dude leaves his alma mata, where he is probably a god, and has a #3 nationally ranked team, to go to UNC it would be the most rediculous coaching move in the history of sports

EXACTLY. anyone who thinks Rich Rod is actually considering coming to chapel hill is smoking crack. if the AD over at UNC lets another dude use him to get a raise he should be fired.

the only reason I can see this happening is for an incredible amount of money, he hates the WVU upcoming years, or he is retarded.

Butch wont take the job, neither will Rich...I can see them getting Logan though.

When has carolina ever been premiere in football?

Even with all of the success that mack brown had the best bowl he could muster was the Gator Bowl, and this was after finishing #4 in the polls.

Rick Barnes going from a football school where he had his team as high as #2, but not much fan support to a basketball school with rich tradition, basketball crazy fans, better facilities and had been ranked up until the end of the year, along with it being his home state is a little more realistic than some guy going from his alma mater where he's got them as a serious National Title contender to a basketball with flaky fan support and currently has no Div. I-A wins. Whatever you may think, Rick Barnes probably did seriously consider the offer we gave him. Rich Rodriguez will probably laugh in Dick Baddour's face on the other hand.

At $1 mil/year, either Rich needs a major raise, or Chuck needs a MAJOR paycut.

maybe if carolina gets a big name coach then cowher will be persuaded to sign on at the end of the year once the steelers go 7-9 and his contract is up!!111

but seriously, yeah

carolina is not allowed to succeed in their coaching search after we failed so miserably at ours, though i still believe the 33 last place votes are very unwarranted - hopefully they find the doherty of college football

or maybe that's who they already had

Carolina's resources aren't any better or impressive than at least half of the other BCS schools, and believe me, Kenan is nothing special. Sure, they have pine trees (big whoop), but they also have cramped seats that are meant for midgets, trickling walls of water that you pee on (makes it easier to "sneak a peak" for the chapel hole locals), lots of aluminum on game day, the Alamo for a fieldhouse, hospital decks to tailgate in, etc...

When push comes to shove WVU will pony up the $$$. I don't even think it will come to that but make no mistake, they will pay him if need be. There isn't a reason in the world RRod to leave WVU if not for $$$. He is an alum, he and his wife grew up 20 mins from Morgantown, and he is positioned for a 3 year run of BCS games, at least with Slaton/White only being sophomores.

Jaybee must be looking for attention tonight or something...
