I also had an add on craigslist, but it was flagged and removed. Could someone tell me why in the hell they would remove my add from the sporting section of craigslist?

the key to posting guns on CL is not putting the words like gun, rifle, caliber, or stuff like that
say something like

rem. mod 597
22lr synthetic/blued

anybody that knows guns will know what u have. it will stay up longer but will still prolly get flagged.

"clips"

Seriously, though, cute gun. .22s can be a lot of fun. I've been thinking about getting a .22, as I'm looking for something that would be good for bunny hunting or similar.

"Bunny Hunting"

Seriously, though. Why did you put clips in quotations?

Because I got shit once for making the mistake of calling a magazine a "clip" and I feel the need to pass it on.

I dont care who gave you shit. Or how much shit you were given. Slang is used in the south and many words are interchangeable. People who worry about the correct lingo in the hunting/gun world are obviously noobs. Thanks for the interest. Next.

You might want to calm down some. I can guaran-damn-tee you that some day you're going to say "clip" to someone when referring to a "magazine" and they're going to look at you all like "wtf," then correct you. What are you going to do? Explain southern idiosyncrasies to them? Then they will be calling YOU a n00b (zeros and all).

I was born and raised in NC and I called them "clips" until the day I was laughed at for it. I had never questioned what they were called growing up because that's what my (southern) dad called them. But that didn't make it correct.

Now, I could be wrong about your gun there, but judging from what I read online and your picture, it looks like a magazine to me. However, if I'm wrong and it is a clip, I'll be woman enough to admit it.

I'm just saying... there IS a difference.

Every gun owner needs a 22 rifle. That's a pretty decent price, I think they are $150-ish new.

Heh, I sold one of these to gunguy last year. Fun little rifles, but the irons are pretty useless IMO.

BTW, the mags are 10-rounders, unless yours are gimpy. If they're not third-gen, Remington will replace them for free.

...

Also, the packaging for the things says "magazine clip". It's enough to make my head spin in circles.

A PSA to whoever ends up buying it: after detail stripping, (a) do not overlubricate the action rails, and (b) do not overtighten them. This will cause the gun to jam about as often as cycle.
