i have a box on the network with an inaccessible IP with regards to the main domain controller. I set an accessible IP manually in the DNS records of the DC. When the box reboots it automatically overwrites the IP. I know there is a way to disable this, and i've tried several registery keys but none work. DNS updating is not enabled in the TCIP of the network adapter either.

thx

good luck....I've been having the same issue with VM's. I have them set to NOT automatically register themselves in DNS but they keep showing up after I delete them.

^ i just added a static route making the IP accessible. Since it was a domain controller there is apparently no way for me to disable dyndns updating
