it can be annoying to pull out of there in the morning. Not that I have ever done it, but I see people doing it and it looks like they might have been there for a while...that is if you are trying to turn left where Lineberry comes in at least. 11/7/2006 5:47:49 PM |

The apartment complex itself is decent. I lived in a privately owned apartment, but saw plenty of them. -Biggest complaint: Parking is a bitch. We had motorcycles and trying to deal with management and parking them was a pain in the ass. (Management is just stupid when it's not something typical, but that's how it is most places) -Also, visitor parking on Friday & Saturday nights is non exsitant after around 8/9 pm but cops never ticketed people who parked on the road during those times... so that was a plus. But if you park in one of the typical spaces rest assured an untagged vehicle WILL BE TOWED and you'll be unloading $100+ to get it back from some sketchy ass dudes with big dogs (no joke unless they changed companies again) -I lived on the third floor & noise was never a problem. -Management loves giving out tickets about things being outside of your door in the main breezeway (i.e. chairs, tables, trash, recycling, grills, etc) & if they can't figure out who it belongs to they'll start just charging the entire floor-- so getting to know the other people that live around you is a good idea. hmm... also, there were a few sketchy activities that occurred during my time there up in the visitor lot. so don't leave any valuables out-- but that's just common sense
--but for the record, i've highlighted everything bad that i could remember. the fact that preiss owns what used to be melrose place now is pretty cool b/c there is now pool, game room, and exercise room acess. decently fun w/ a case or two. Overall, I enjoyed living there. And by comparison with some of my other friend's places-- I would MUCH rather live in U Woods. 11/7/2006 7:30:42 PM |

Whenever i fuck a U-Slut i always leave out the 2nd entrance. The 2nd post in this thread is right its annoying to try to pull out of the entrance across from lineberry with cars coming everywhere.
Very noisy apt complex i think i might have slept there like 10 times total in the entire five years ive lived in raleigh. I ALWAYS go back home after im done cause its just too damn loud to sleep there.
Many better options IMO. Plus it doesnt even have its on pool you have to share a pool with Shaw Village down the street. 11/7/2006 8:32:04 PM |

I have been here for 4 years. I am a private owner. I am on the Board of Directors of the Home Owners Association.
Parking is a bitch. There is nothing that can be done about that. Park on Trailwood and leave before 6am. Security has gone up, breakins and vandalism have gone down some what. It is relatively cheap to live here. There is pool and workout facilities across the street. 11/7/2006 8:50:51 PM |

At max capacity, there is only enough parking for 95% of the residents. They have to be strict on towing. 11/7/2006 11:13:12 PM |

At Uglenn.... Another Preiss company complex, we have 55 spots for 96 residents...... go figure. My room mate and I got towed last week for "parking in the wrong spot".... because when we got home suprise, all 55 spots were full, so we made our own..
Aside from Towing, Uglenn, Uwoods, Uoaks are all about the same and we haven't had any trouble. 11/7/2006 11:31:54 PM |

theres enough parking for all tennants, but visitors dont park in visitors spots and they take up people who live theres' spots so thats why they have to tow so aggressively
plus, theres 2 gay ass shitty cars that sit in the visitors spots, i think uwoods should have them towed.

The dune buggy and boat should not be there. There have been letters sent to the owner of the boat. The son of the person is who has the boat there. The parent believes the boat to be moved, while the son hasn't done anything with it. I think they get one more warning before their boat dissapears. The dune buggy I will have to look into, if it isn't registered and street legal, then it may be taken as well.
The two cars that don't move, if they are registered, have current tags, and run, then there isn't much that can be done about them. 11/8/2006 12:23:58 AM |

^^^^^ Yeah, the maxima is mine. It moves occasionally, but I need that spot to work, as my extension cord only reaches that far. It will be moving in a couple days, as I won't be doing any real work on it for a couple of weeks.

bad: steps are creaky as hell. you get fines if you leave trash outside your apt on the walkways. parking is way strict. no balconies, but a sunroom which is pretty sweet. not much cupboard space in the kitchen and no pantry.
good: huge closets. fairly nice rooms. pretty big kitchens. CAT bus stop right outside (on lineberry rd). you can walk to u village to use their weight room and pool. 11/9/2006 12:10:17 AM |

steps are creaky as hell - on the old side, the new side isnt like that you get fines if you leave trash outside your apt on the walkways - i think thats pretty fair seeing as i dont want trash and shit all over the deck area. parking is way strict - because if they didnt do this, then there would be nowhere for people who actually live here to park. not much cupboard space in the kitchen and no pantry - what? ok 11/9/2006 1:16:09 AM |

-..new side? -yeah me neither, but sometimes you don't feel like walking to the dumpster and just set it outside overnight or whatever. they fine you. -agreed, but towing still sucks if you have friends over and every visitor spot is full -y'know... for storing food and dishes and stuff? 11/9/2006 7:11:52 PM |

im too drunk to read what everyone else posted.... anyway........ i lived there for a year.... it's almost as cool/nice as the place i live now.... nice plase, nice set up, nice appliances, etc (however we did have a private landlord), only problem was thea mount of noise at night... sometime really loud during the week... esp. during summer when i took 12 hrs during summer.... also sometimes parking was a problem and i would have to park sooooo far away or else if i had guests they had to park in buttfuck or in another apt complex and i had to go get them.... 11/10/2006 4:26:51 AM |

don't live in uwoods unless you have a private landlord. the preiss company sucks and is out to get you. also, don't walk out to the dumpsters late at night unless you want to get held up at gun point. also if you enjoy sleeping ever don't live there. it's loud all the time. also its very dirty since no one picks up their trash so every monday morning there's beer cans all over the grass and broken bottles in the parking lot. i've lived here for a year and a half and absolutely hate it here. which is why i'm moving out next month. 11/13/2006 9:48:02 PM |

i lived there for 6 months. we were the first tenants in our buildings. cheaply built. priess company will rape you on move out charges - take pictures of EVERYTHING! they charged us for missing towel racks, doorknobs, cabinets. we actually left our apt nicer than it was when we moved in. since we were the first tenants they didn't think vacumning up the dust left from the builders and the muddy footprints from constructions workers was necessary.... wtf. we had pictures but they said we couldn't prove they were of our apt. wtf. parking was a nightmare even then. breakins were a problem back then.
There is nothing nice to say about the Priess Company.
I moved to Gorman Crossings after living there and was happier with them overall 6/13/2007 3:06:01 PM |

I lived there for two years.
-I did not had a car at the time and found the combination of the CAT and Wolfline easy to get to campus. - A friend had his stereo/CDs stolen out of his car. But in any low-income area you have to worry about that (college kids qualify). Don't leave shit in your car that will make it attractive to be broken into. - Preiss company screwed us on the move in date (but that is because we were the first ones to move in after they built it, the paint was still wet and the carpet not done ) - Fines for leaving trashbags outside the door, and a long ass hike to the dumpster (at least when we were there).
Overall, I'd give it an average experience. The apartment was brand new so it was nice, and being a dude, never felt unsafe. It's noisy, but that doesn't bother me. 6/13/2007 4:49:36 PM |
