The sex crimes in question need not involve children or even another human being. Many of them are in fact thought crimes.

I know of no greater indictment of direct democracy than the passage of this piece of shit.

I will say I am very upset with the way sex offenders who have been released are treated. To me, if you're going to release them into the public again, you should not be treating them as second-class citizens. I don't even like the sex-offender list. Seems like a "murderer" list would be important too, right?

My soltution:
Tougher standards for release
Throw away the key provisions for repeat offenders.

That is a horribly overstated summary of it. Jesus.. First off it's not for EVERY sexual offense. Second of all it's not even close to 'basically a life sentence' for every offender.

This is probably bullshit, but I'm not quite sure. I wouldn't surprise me if it is. In California, having anything that looks remotely like a "throwing star" is a felony. They have stupid laws.

It is for the most part. I voted NO on this, but only because I think along the same lines of what ^ said.. I understand what they are trying to do and other states have passed certain parts of the Prop, but not as inclusive.

^ also I could be wrong on this but I don't believe that solicitation of a minor (who happens to be a police officer) is a felony included under this prop...
