Does anyone that has worked with content management systems have a recommendation for a small town/community social website. Desired features would be message boards, voting polls, news content, feature sections, photo gallery, etc. I know there are 101 CMS packages out there that have these features, but most of them are clunky, buggy, hard to work with.
if you know of any sites such as this tailored to a small community I'd like to see some examples. 11/9/2006 8:03:44 PM |

joomla/mambo, hands down. Biggest community, most components, etc
Of the two I still prefer Mambo, seems much more stable. 11/9/2006 9:04:22 PM |

I'll second Mambo, I really quite like it, and its been the best out-of-box experience of any CMS I've used yet.
PHPNuke,PostNuke,Drupal have all bit the shitter, but I do like Wordpress a lot (just isn't really for what you need) 11/9/2006 11:57:16 PM |
