i want to start price watching for these...i have a small (60gb) hd on my laptop, so i really need something else for music/movie storage.
I think i want to get a 250gb+ external with firewire connection. what's a good price for that size? i saw Best buy had one on sale this week (320gb for $179, WD i think) but i don't know enough about the current prices to know if that's worth picking up. there's no real rush on this purchase...
any thoughts? 11/10/2006 1:13:49 PM |

I bought an internal 3.5" hard drive (seagate) from newegg that was 400 GB for $75 after rebate. Then I put it in an external enclosure (from outpost.com) that was ~$30. It has firewire and USB and has done me well so far with video editing. It works faster than my thinkpad laptop's hard drive (probably because of the 16mb cache)
Internal drive with an enclosure is your cheapest deal and most flexible if you want to move the hard drive into a desktop eventually 11/10/2006 3:05:26 PM |
