44 touchdowns will still not be enough to get them to .500 with their defense

Outside of Brian Cushing and his superman interception, rivers has looked great this season.

Ryan Matthews has to be the worst starting RB in the league.

He's really not that bad.

Definitely better than anyone the Steelers can put out there.

he may not be the worst, but he wasn't worth trading up to 12th overall (and associated salary) in 2010

It was a rough couple of years no doubt but rivers is a good fucking QB. The lack of protection has made him force shit and try and make plays

I was flipping through the channels last week and saw Phillip doing an interview on the 700 club (Pat Robertson) talking about his faith. It was terrible. http://www.cbn.com/tv/2666256965001

Glad to see him playing well, and actually coming through in the clutch to get them in FG position. I can't even remember the last time he's won a game like that, even before he completely unraveled the past couple seasons.

nope. terrible because he thought it would be a good idea to go on the fucking 700 club and associate himself with a complete nut-job like Pat Robertson who is a multi-millionaire from stealing money from naive senior citizens.

if you don't think Pat Robertson is a nut and the 700 club is a front, you might be a gullible far-right nut-job yourself (if you want to start namecalling, you moron).

I know Robertson has said a ton of bat shit crazy stuff, but wasn't he the one that said last year that the tornadoes that hit the midwest could've been avoided if more people prayed them away?

I never said anything about Pat Robertson. Dude is just another guy on TV making money off people watching him. I just find it comical that you and your liberal ilk go out of your way to bash anything that has to do with Christianity all while preaching to people about being open minded and accepting. Very hypocritical. This interview was Rivers was not terrible unless you just hate Christianity.

^^you seem to be missing the point. i didn't bash him because of his Christianity. i already knew he was a very devout christian, everyone knows that. i bashed him for appearing on the 700 Club and associating himself with Pat Robertson, who is an awful human being, at least that's the way he's portrayed himself on tv for decades. And I'm bashing you for saying that makes me a "liberal blowhard" and using the phrase "liberal ilk".

open minded and accepting to bigotry and hate (which Pat Robertson has a pretty long history of)?

in what world does that make any sense?

i will point out a couple specifics: he claimed his priorities are "faith, family, and football". If you actually like and care about your family, how could you put your faith over that? I did find it comical how he described his rated G trash-talking.

Anyways, my bad for diverting this thread.... but it is "all things Phillip Rivers", and they just aired the interview last week. I'm still a fan and i hope he's still got a few semi-successful seasons left in him.

fun stats:

Phil is now #40 all time passing yardage. if he throws for a measly average of 275/game for the rest of the season, he'll move into the top-30, passing some big names like Cunningham, McNair, Brunell, Jurgensen, and Warner. if he stays healthy, he'll pass Tittle, Young, Aikman, and Simms by Week 4 of next season

Rivers had to tell his coach not to throw the challenge flag on a turnover...

but it was too late and refs charged them for a TO

I hope Rivers can set the current mark for consecutive games played by a qb. I think it's between him and E. Manning, with Manning having the edge because he got the start sooner.

2nd in the league in passing yards behind only Peyton. Imagine if he had Peyton's WRs (cue Jaybee rant)
