so basically, the only thing it has to do with the final game is art design and story- not graphics



a separate company was given Bungie's assets and told to make a commercial, in no way does that represent what the game will look like

Who cares if it was pre-rendered? It's not like the graphics from that are a far stretch.

I'd be more excited about this game if it included part 1 and 2 and you could play the game all the way through. They could even improve the graphics of the first two kind of like what they did for Virtua Fighter when it came out for the Sega Saturn (I may be the only person on the board that actually got a copy of Virtua Fighter Remix). Other than that I can't get all that excited for this game. Partly due to being somewhat disappointed with part 2, partly because I fell like I've already played it.

There are gonna be movies as well.

As long as there is money to be made, there will be halo things made.

Also.....I wonder if this commercial is being used to see what the interest is in a completely CGI movie. I know there is one thats gonna come out, but I dont know if they have chosen which path to take.

uh...yes...CG is just a 'loose' term for digital animation. pretty much anything from Final Fantasy the movie to Rainbow Six Vegas falls under "CG"

A quick google search will show you literally hundreds of examples of the term CG being interchanged with cut scenes and pre-rendered material.

But feel free to keep hanging on to that technicality that everything that is "computer generated" is "CG"

CG always refers to computer generated.

In video game reviews, writers tend to refer to images that are CG but not generated by the game engine as "pre-rendered" (or any Sony pre release video =P).

No part of Halo is pre-rendered but all of it is CG.
