IF CHUCK AMATO WAS NAMED NEXT FOOTBALL COACH

FANS WILL SEE SOME GOOD DEFENSIVE FOOTBALL, AND WE WILL WIN SOME GAMES NEXT YEAR

AND EVEN A HECK OF AN OFFENSE IF HE CAN BRING THAT (insert big school here) OC WITH HIM!

With PJ, you'll get a hard-nosed, well-disciplined team that wins.

With Jimbo, who knows? He's never been a HC and we don't know how he is on discipline, the one thing we need the most.

^^^ Ughhhh... having a good defense with no offense doesn't win football games buddy!!

Now having a stellar offense with an okay defense will win you most of the games....

Better to put points on the board then to defend "0" points well....

PJ used to be OC at Hawaii, they sure suck ass every year on offense.

Johnson is a better candidate and if your argument is really "b/c Navy sucks", then you must have no idea what you're talking about here.

Jimbo fisher is experienced at recruiting. Furthermore, he's resume from LSU is far superior to Johnson's. Plus, Jimbo Fisher is a known name. I guarantee that most recruits have no idea who Paul Johnson is.

yeah, if your team is a top-10 team every season, someone is teaching discipline somewhere please believe me

and who ever said that PJ is guarnateed to bring discipline. (HE COACHES THE DAMN NAVY FOR CHRIST'S SAKE) I would hope that if you even are admitted into the Naval Academy that you have some level of discipline...

On that note, just wanted to say that I support Jimbo for coach and I'll shut up for a while now.... haha

Yes, because they instill the discipline themselves. Furthermore, Paul Johnson is currently making 1.25 mil a year. I do not want to pay that much money to a coach who does not have BCS experience.

Yeah okay....see FSU in the 1990s. Most penalized team in the ACC almost every year. STFU.

Most of you fucks know nothing, and guess what your opinion on coach doesn't mean shit.

I personally like David Cutcliffe the best, but whatever direction is better than Chuckles.

Unless he is recruiting them...recruits have no idea who the fuck Jimbo Fisher is either.

The only coordinator recruits MIGHT have evern known was Norm Chow.

Quit fooling yourself if you think bringing in Jimbo Fisher is a big-name with recruits.

Those who say Jimbo Fisher is a big name with recruits probably had no fucking clue who jimbo fisher was until he came up in this search

not that I would be against having him, but I just find it funny that people talk about Jimbo Fisher like he is a fucking God and that every recruit in America has him on speed dial

And if NC State does hire Jimbo, his prestige will hopefully follow him here....

Was Amato being offered three other different coaching jobs?

Was Amato's name being mentioned throughout the FSU games when he was a coordinator?

Football guru's (i.e. Chuck Neinas) know proven winners when they see them, and the only reason that Paul Johnson is in this search is b/c somebody high up at NC State has the dellusional view that he will be a BETTER coach than Amato. WOW

for the record, he was a d-line coach and linebackers coach. they gave him some bullshit 'associate assistant head coach' title or some shit after he'd been there like 15 years.

thats right, they went out and hired someone below a coordinator.

we should be happy with damn near any of the people on our list at this point

At least I'll be wishing good luck to whoever comes, unlike some of you.

Actually, every single one of Navy's home games is carried on CSTV, a fledgling channel that was bought this past year by CBS. It's part of some cable systems digital sports packs, and carried on Dish and DirecTV. And since Navy signed on as their flagship program, all games are on the internet, free of charge.

Navy has a minimum of 2 games a year with nation-wide coverage...Notre Dame (CBS or NBC) and Army (CBS). Of course, this will be the 4th year in a row with a post-season game on TV as well.

Come to think of it, I was able to watch every single Navy game this year (not sure if Duke was on TV or not, but I was there, so it didn't really matter to me).

you would do well with Navy's coach

that shit was about painful to watch when they stomped the tar out of us

and i tell you what, with all them running backs, the option would work well at ncsu

the option relies upon slow defenses. And for the record, CSTV is in as many houses as the NFL network.

the option also relies on misdirection and a QB who can make good decisions with LB's bearing down on him as he turns the corner at the line.

we haven't had a QB that can make good decisions in 3 years

i would love to see johnson coach this team with the talent we have (B&B), however i am much more excited to see what Jimbo and Pelini can do if they come as a package deal. I would also much rather see herring here (who hasn't been mentioned at all) than PJ. PJ is my fourth overall choice(cowher being 1st), but i would still be happy to see him over other options (aka amato).

I also think we need to start the search for a new AD no matter what happens in this search. Lee has no clue what is goin on and just tries to please the big donors so he can keep his job. He needs to be looking to find the coach that best fits here FIRST. unlike goin after lowe when everybody else said no. lowe should have been first on the list. (lowe scored major props by accepting this job knowing he was the last choice while also giving up his huge salary just for his alma mater. i will NEVER say one bad thing about lowe just b/c i know he has a pure love for this university)

Well he's already got the shades thing down.

Both would be great hires. In my mind I keep flip-flopping on which one would be better for us. Recently Jimbo gained the slight edge for me.

We should have a thread coming up with ideas for t-shirts like Amato's Amigos, Herb's Buds, etc.

I say we find the 20-25 hottest girls in the school and have them wear t-shirts that show the midrift, and a cut down the middle to show off the cleavage like the FSU Cowgirls, place them at the front of the student section, and call them Jimbo's Bimbos.

According to David Glenn State cancelled its interview with Fisher, which either means there's a new fallback for the #2 candidate or we've hired somebody else.
