99.9% chance that it's a legacy act of some sort

because they've already hosted a good handful of the biggest contemporary acts without an announcement

so it's either Brooks or that Sting/Paul Simon tour

the announcement aspect of it is just odd

Garth Brooks doesn't meet Jesus on a fiery mountain while wearing a diamond encrusted torture mask, man.

Yeah, it's fucking Billy Joel. A lot of hype for a one night only concert.

Seriously! he's performed in that building with Elton John and that wasn't hyped up with a pre-announcement. And pretty sure a LOT more people give a damn about Timberlake than a washed up Billy Joel..

supposedly other mayors did this as well, but I don't care enough to verify

sets a super weird precedent, though

So I bought a ticket for HAIM at the Cradle around noon the day they went on sale and didn't think much about it.

No one told me that shit sold out with the quickness.

What's the likelihood of the Sylvan Esso show being sold out Friday night? We figured we'd just pay at the door since there's a convenience fee anyway.

According to the promoter, there aren't many tickets left, but who knows if that's true.

Do you think they would have sold out without being on SNL?

oh yeah the free legend's show is over at 10 and the king's show doesn't start til 10 (as advertised... probably a few minutes later) so if you already have tickets to king's, let's party beforehand.

^So I'm really liking these cats (for some reason, not normally a type of music I would seek out)

What are people's thoughts on the over/under that they blow up within the next 1-2 years?

Personally I don't think they are quite there yet but I just keep listening, and I keep liking it more. Also NEED MORE SONGS!!!!

I love them, and they're such nice folks. It'd be awesome if they did blow up. They NEED to put their album out. I've wanted that shit for nearly a year now

I had never seen the Love Language before and was only familiar with a few of their more popular songs, but damn they put on a great show imo. Seems like some people just came to see Esso and bounced after their set. I really like the new songs I heard..do we even know when the album is coming out?

I am a very big Velvet Underground fan

and the prospect of seeing Macaulay Culkin on stage at a place I frequent intrigues me
