i don't know if there will ever be a perfect time to visit the middle east, it's so unpredictable.

i went to israel last spring. while i was there, there was a decent little battle about 20 miles away from where i was staying. the israeli army stormed a prison in jordan with tanks and artillery and we were ordered to stay in our hotel until the following day. it was a bit unsettling, but that was the only unrest i witnessed for the whole week. it was a great trip overall. i would go back again.
