I have a Linksys BEFW11S4 router, switch, and access point combo unit, and I want to connect it to another router, switch, access point combo (a Netgear). I want to have the Netgear as my main unit (for the whole house) and only the stuff in my room to be connected to the Linksys. How can i do this? Should I turn off all the features of the Linksys such as DHCP and routing? or is there a website that shows how to do this?

turn off dhcp
make sure it does not conflict with your other router ip
and you're good

if you put a custom firmware on it I believe you can move the WAN port into the local vlan as well

make sure they don't both use the same management IP address. Since one's a linksys and one's a netgear, they are going to default to different management IPs anyway, so this isn't a concern. You might want to make sure they're in the same subnet, so that you can access both router's from anywhere in your home network.

Linksys is going to default to a 192.168.1.1/24
Not sure about netgear offhand, but for example 192.168.0.1/24 would be a different subnet.

also connect the uplink of the linksys to a port on the netgear.. don't use the WAN port.

I have a similar setup.. turn off DHCP, set the management ip to something outside of the netgear's DHCP range but also different from the netgear management ip.. I have netgear set to 192.168.1.1 and the linksys at 192.168.1.100 with netgear dhcp at .1.2 to .1.51

they both default to 192.168.1.1 as the management IP (the management IP is the page you go to to change settings, right?)

yep... so change one to 192.168.1.2 or something else memorable to avoid an IP conflict.
