Current System:
P4 3.2 GHz with HT 1.5 GB (1 GB + 512 MB) BFG GeForce 6600 GT 256MB
Debating about throwing an additional $100 into the system:
1) Upgrade video card to a BFG GeForce 7600 GT 256 MB
2) Remove 512 MB of RAM and replace with a matching 1 GB to allow for true DDR
3) Replace stock Intel Audio with a true sound card
----------
Basically, I've purchased Star Trek: Legacy and its the first game I've played to make the system chug. I can't tell if it is hitting the hard drive or if it is just having a hard time rendering everything.
Recommendations welcome. 12/19/2006 1:26:12 PM |

going from 1.5 to 2GB will probably be marginal, but i guess the dual channel will kick in and help, as long as you have a dual channel mobo. you won't get "true DDR", btw - you might get "true dual channel", but DDR is DDR, regardless of how many DIMMs you have or if they're matched or whatever. 12/19/2006 1:36:44 PM |
