you know why you people think talking about money is tacky?

because you're socially conditioned to think so. nothing at all is tacky or weird about saying how much you make.

so long as you're not rubbing your income in someone's face, it's fine.

VV if you get a job that you travel all year and work sometimes 7 days a week, then you will have been trying my system.

for all the shit youve talked about long hours and being travelling and how much money you were making roddy,

60k is pretty shitty.

it's been proven over and over that although a username can be anonymous it rarely is - most people leak out personal information even if they don't mean to

After contributing 25% to my 401k per paycheck, a good sum to my healthplan, and Uncle Sam dipping in...not too much.

Why would contribute more than the match limit? I can understand maybe 5-10% more, but there are tons of other things you can do with that money, you know.

Aside from investing in a roth ira I can't really think of anything else, unless you like investing money in depreciating assets.

By hitting 25%, I can max out the $15k per year on my 401k. I then write a check for $3k towards my IRA (can't do Roth b/c of wife's combined income with mine). My wife maxes her 401k out as well at $15k. We aren't tightwads, and still go out and do what we want...we're just especially aware that we need to put as much money back now as possible. My wife wants to be a stay at home mom, and for her to drop out of the workforce for 10 years, we need to put it back now.
