UNC has been doing it for 15 years.

This is dumb comparing a football school's nfl prospects to a basketball school's. Thats just like comparing our nba players vs theirs. No contest either way. Might as well compare our nfl players to their nba players. That would make more sense. 12/27/2006 2:01:46 AM |

unc has 26 state has 19
but i would bet more state players are currently starters than unc-ch
^since when are we a football school? how many national championships do we have in football?

^^That's a garbage list, because ^ he's right.
Oliver Hoyte starts and plays FB for the Dallas Cowboys. Brian Clark also starts as a KR. Alvis Whitted plays, but I don't think he starts. And McCargo would be 2nd String or starter if he didn't get placed on IR.

^As far as position-by-position, Peppers is better than any defensive player we've put in the league (at least right now, Manny could change that) Crumpler is a far better TE than any we've fielded Willie Parker is better than any RB from NCSU(but he doesn't really count since he disavowed going to UNC) Jeff Reed is far better than the cavalcade of shit kickers we've had for the last eon
On the flip side, UNC has NEVER had a quarterback half as good as Philip Rivers They have NEVER had a receiver half as good as Torry Holt Cotchery is also better than any receiver they've got in the league right now. Locklear is the best OL from either school(to be fair, he does get to play with Walter Jones) 12/27/2006 1:21:59 PM |

Did any of you guys watch college football in 1997, or did it start 3 years ago? That UNC defense has like 8 out of 11 that have played in the NFL, and I think half still start in 06, along with three that start from their 01 defense. This is why our fanbase is referred to as delusional, we have 3 drafted and everyone thinks we're the new Miami. And give it some time before we anoit Rivers the next Montana, and Lawson the next Peppers. They have us in football too, hate to tell ya. Wideout is the only thing we have on them. In the next 3 to 4 years I think we can make up some substantial ground though in other areas.

You might want to go check your stats before spouting off that we have never feilded a TE better than Alge "I drop balls all season" Crumpler. TJ Williams had better stats all three of the years he started than Alge. Over 3 seasons he averaged over 400 yards and 30 receptions. Compare that to any of Alge's season at CH. 12/27/2006 4:30:10 PM |

He's clearly talking about NFL production. I mean TA was far better in college than Fast Willie but I don't think that really says too much about their NFL careers.

as i mentioned, i compiled those lists by clicking on each name and going to the team's depth chart. i listed them as does not play if they were not on the depth chart, where in some cases they are injured, benched, etc.

why do people consistently act like adrian wilson isnt one of the best safeties in the nfl?
the guy made the pro bowl, try not to ignore him please
and unc obviously trumps us historically, LT? the real LT? unc has the most dominant defensive player ever and the current most dominant defensive player.
but we are tied for 3rd for most pro bowlers and tied for 2nd if you dont give parker to unc12/27/2006 8:43:24 PM |
