I just read an article making reference to a recent study reported in the American Journal Medicine, 802-804, 2006 that indicates diet mixers speed up the absorbtion of alcohol in the blood stream and make you drunk faster. Since there is no sugar to slow down the absorbtion of alcohol, BAC levels can be increased by as much as 50% when diet mixers are used. For those of you who might be drinking heavily tonight, keep this in mind.
Happy holidays everyone. hope you stay safe and off the roads if you plan on drinking anything at all. 12/31/2006 5:57:38 PM |
