I'd like something that can record tv onto DVDs as well as play files from dvds or cds that are in mpeg or divx format. Theres a bunch on the market right now, any recommendations 1/1/2007 2:51:45 PM |

personally i use a DVR well a media center PC for that, gives you more options and you can still burn to DVD. 1/1/2007 3:42:56 PM |

I have a Samsung DVD-R120. That thing plays many formats and is reasonably priced. 1/1/2007 6:42:20 PM |

avoid RCA, my family got one and it crapped out quickly, it would barely even play regular rented/purchased DVD movies, then RCA hassled us in trying to get a refund and they let us get another one, which has also crapped out similarly 1/13/2007 11:34:50 PM |

I was in the same boat as you. My intention was to record the reality tv show "i want to be a jenna girl" on club jenna. I found the panasonic 15 and 25 (i forget the rest of the model numbers) to be pretty nice. Then i decided ....hey im recording standard def tv they are all going to suck. So i went and bought the cheapest recorder i could find that wasnt made by lite on. It is still running strong, its ugly and the gui sucks but it still works. 1/14/2007 11:41:34 AM |
