two things.
1) you should post what type you bought so no one recommends it 2) you should explain to us what stratching is? 1/3/2007 5:13:16 PM |

i bought maxell cd cleaning kit and it didnt do anything to it....
xbox sometimes creates a ring around the cd and it causes it to mess up
wondering if any other xbox 360 users have been able to fix their cds 1/3/2007 7:24:19 PM |

use a disk doctor on it, THEN buy some game skins for the disks so it will not get ruined the next time you move the gd 360 while it is running. 1/3/2007 9:18:22 PM |

You do know the trick about going to the dashboard after playing a game to properly spin down the disc slowly right?? If you dont the 360 just drops the disc and it gets scratched up. 1/3/2007 9:19:38 PM |

^ not 100% true
i quite often (most of the time i go the dashboard first tho) power off my console by the controller in the middle of a game, and i have been doing this every since i have had my console(nov 05 launch), and not a single scratch has been located on any disc of mine. 1/4/2007 12:04:22 AM |

some of the xbox 360 drives have been known to scratch discs during normal use, but the most common cause is moving the xbox while its running. 1/4/2007 12:58:51 PM |

Moving the Xbox is what scratches rings into it. That said, use a disc doctor and don't move it while it's on. /thread1/4/2007 2:54:07 PM |

as i said, if you have any device that uses cds, esp slot load devices like some cd players or changers, or devices that may scratch cds, or you dont trust folks not to sue them as coasters face down next tot he unit, buy game skins, put them on the disks, no more scratches on the disk itself. 1/4/2007 5:33:57 PM |

walmart sells them, so do most game stores, they have an edge that clips on and then a clear surface that protects the bottom of the disk, be wraned, they are not all exactly identical in size, jsut as nto all game disks are identical, close but not identical. Thus you normally have to hand fit them to get make sure they are nto to small or to large onthe disk. One may fit perfect the next five fit other disks fine but not the one in your hand. However they are togh as hell, and well worth the investment. a 50 pack runs about $35, less for smaller packs. 1/6/2007 2:49:11 PM |
