Actually, Romo didn't blame the ball on his fuck up, but other kickers are speaking up about these "K-Balls".1/10/2007 6:19:23 PM |

less air and i think they are more aerodynamic because they have been 'pushed' in at the ends to make them more round. 1/10/2007 6:33:08 PM |

well the less air thing definitely does make sense around this time of year, when it's usually freezing outside 1/10/2007 6:34:23 PM |

they use k-balls because there were rumors of teams doctoring balls for their kicker so that they get more yardage. it even says in the article, kicker in 1998 had 40 touchbacks in 1999 when the k-balls were introduced he only had 13. personally i think kickers are whining because they can get more yardage out of balls that their teams are allowed to break in 1/10/2007 7:02:58 PM |

that quote is misleading. the 1998 Minnesota Vikings averaged almost 35 points a game, whereas the 1999 Vikings team barely averaged 25 points a game. it would make sense that the kicker would have more touchbacks when he's probably kicking twice as many kickoffs a game.1/11/2007 11:31:50 AM |

the more balls a kicker kicks during a game, the better he is going to get. it's a matter of being warmed up and limber, and jumping around on the sidelines doesn't cut it.
your math sucks too. 40/13 is 3:1, not 4:1. 1/11/2007 11:39:36 AM |
