dammit, that sucks. not that we probably would've gotten him, but its always nice to dream. can't say i understand the logic in staying when you'd be learning a new system for just one year and you're almost guaranteed as a 1st round pick

I don't understand the logic in risking injury when you could be making millions at the next level. You can always come back and get that degree, but if you get a bad injury, you're losing millions of dollars. 1/15/2007 8:45:48 AM |

Good for him. I like seeing a player/family have that kind of loyalty to the school. His family is very well off regardless and it's rare to see a player come back. Also, the QB class will be significantly weaker at the top next year than this. 1/15/2007 11:13:30 AM |

Damn I wanted Carolina to get this guy so bad. They probably would have picked a LB instead, but still their was a chance. Also we play Louisville next year. 1/15/2007 12:24:45 PM |

I agree Bobby, but didn't leinart still get close to top 3 money even though he was chosen 10th, when he would have been a sure thing at 1 the season before.
NyM, you know NC State plays Louisville next season, I would have loved to have seen this kid gone 1/15/2007 12:28:31 PM |

I think they end up getting an insurance policy on the potential earnings. Kinda like what McGahee did before the Fiesta bowl...
