Right now the 32 degree line goes right through the middle of Raleigh. Temperatures are actually going to rise until midnight (so they say), then dip down again before sunrise. Should be interesting because right now, the trees on Hillsborough street have ice on them...

Just b/c its 32 degrees or less and precipitation is falling it doesn't mean it is going to be snow. It can be sleet or freezing rain depending on the entire column of air in the atmosphere. Parts of this air column is warmer than 32 degrees so the best we can see here is sleet, but freezing rain will most likely be all we see tonight.

Are you not aware of NCSU's policy that if the buses can run, classes will be held?? (unless thats changed in the past few years). And frankly, a few inches isn't reason enough to cancel college classes, when the majority of students live very close to campus.

What is wake county schools going to do though if there isn't any snow? Kids just get a free day? It seems premature to close this early, esp. considering how NC weather is, and how terrible are news people are when it comes to snow predictions.

I would love some snow, but I just have a feeling it'll be nothing severe (no accumulation on roads and such).
