"The Raiders have expressed interest in acquiring quarterback Michael Vick from the Falcons. According to multiple sources, including foxsports.com, the Raiders have offered to ship wide receivers Randy Moss and Jerry Porter, and the first overall pick in the 2007 draft to Atlanta in exchange for Vick. The Falcons might be interested in the first overall pick, but they've invested a pair of their own first-round picks in wide receivers Michael Jenkins and Roddy White in recent years. "

This could be bad-ass. The fucking Falcons would get so much better, though I'm not quite sure what they would use the top pick on. Schuab seems NFL ready right now.

the ATL would have to be crazy not to do this. Schaub can step in w/ no drop off (probably an improvement). They will shed alot of salary, and will have ample bargaining pawns come draft day (or even a non draft related trade), and 2 great first round picks.

No threads about him being traded, only an old one debating whether he is a "Golden God"

This is fucking NEWS, the complete opposite of a manic depressant decalring stupidity on a day to day basis.

My Threads =/= & are > your threads.

you have to remember, NFL owners dont care as much about winning as putting money in their pockets, and Vick puts people in the seats win or lose, if they werent swapping 1st rounders I say do it, or just tell em to keep porter or something

i'm a dallas fan but aren't most people around here panthers fans? and still cheering the falcons on? i guess i dont get it. i say fuck the redskins and every trade they contemplate. with that being said. the falcons should pull this off by all means. even trade their two "first round picks" for a couple safetys

it's a fucking rumor you fools. this will never happen, and if it does, it will not be for jerry porter, moss, and the number one overall pick. the raiders didn't make this offer, and atlanta won't trade vick. the cap hit would be $23 million.

Sounds like a good deal for Oakland. They get rid of idiots like Moss and Porter who are cancers, get Vick, and presumably something else like a draft pick.

why would petrino dig himself into a hole in his first season by taking a huge cap hit while acquiring two players with huge egos who aren't going to come cheap? they'd be limited in their free agent signings and may even have to cut additional players to get under the cap. it makes zero sense, and there's no argument in favor of it.

I would jump on it, A QB you don't need for 3 quality players. PLus your sending him to the AFC west the toughest conference in the NFL. I think thats a great trade, you have Schaub might as well play him.

Schaub is ready to play and has proven that he can throw the football

Randy and Porter want someone to throw them ball

Vick has not lived up to all the hype and i think ATL should take the team in a new direction

they could avoid the cap hit after june 1st, but that would nullify the draft picks as part of the trade.

http://www.realfootball365.com/nfl/articles/2007/01/raiders-vick-plusesminuses240107.html

realfootball365.com outlines the pluses and minuses of this trade were it to go down. among other things, it points out that the cap hit incurred by atlanta due to such a trade prior to june 1 in addition to the $10.75 million for which atlanta would be responsible by acquiring the two wr's makes such a trade unlikely.

^^^i believe they draft young players every may. but seriously, the raiders' biggest needs are quarterback and running back. quarterback is a greater need because they'll likely only have one qb from last year on next year's roster, walter. however, the only time they drafted a qb number one overall was roman gabriel, who chose to play in the nfl instead.

they could still do this trade with atlanta and get marshawn lynch at #10, whom i believe to be the running back they want. but i still think the trade is unrealistic because it financially cripples atlanta and i think al wants to keep porter.

ding ding

the D is not the problem...the D is what kept them in the games they won

Al Davis is the one of, if not the worst owner in the NFL
