probably 3 months ago i guess, my horn stopped working and my turn signals have stopped flashing. the signals both work, they just don't toggle so i have to do it manually. i've replaced the relays/flashers to no avail, which leads me to believe the problems lies in the wiring.
i'm trying to sell it, but if i can't before the inspection runs out in march, how much does rewiring typically cost? 1/29/2007 6:36:27 PM |

i could take at look at it for you sometime, horn is probably the contact ring, and the flashers is probably a bad ground 1/29/2007 6:40:24 PM |

well i think the headlight motor is going bad too, because the right one opens slower than the left and they both make this awful grinding noise when i close them.
but yeah as far as i can tell the lights themselves work 1/29/2007 6:50:09 PM |

what kind of flasher, if they don't have enough load on them, they won't flash, the heavy duty ones won't work on your car 1/29/2007 6:51:56 PM |

the turn flasher isnt in the fuse block, thats the hazard flasher, it should be to the left of the steering column under the dash by itself 1/29/2007 7:01:29 PM |

you can take apart the headlight motor and rotate the plastic driven gear so the drive gear doesn't touch the bad part anymore for a free fix.

i'm probably gonna ask $3500-4000 and go from there. its got 147K miles, but i'd say at least 70% of those are highway, and there's a scrape on the right fender but its otherwise pretty good cosmetically 1/30/2007 6:46:21 AM |

my Formula headlights do the same thing -- that grinding noise after they shut... has been doing it for 1.5 years and still works fine though.1/30/2007 10:17:09 AM |
