Just found out my dad is in the hospital. He apparently had a mild heart attack and they are transferring him to Duke. Please say a prayer for him. I'm pretty much in shock right now.

a coworker of mine had a major heart attack at work.....if he wasnt at work he would of died(great medical staff here). 40% of his heart is dead(they say some of it might be in shock and will wake up). He had like 6 blockages. This was two weeks ago.......he was released today to begin his recovery. He is just 47.

^^ & ^^^ Not a religious thread, don't make it one. Its like the old cliche, if you can't say anything good, don't say anything at all. I realze this is TWW, but its not too much to ask for a thread like this. Not to mention that there is something to be said for positive thinking in recovery from medical situations. If believing in God and beliving that other peoples prayers give you strength, it may indeed become a self-fulfilling prophecy, deity or no deity.

That being said, my dad had a mild heart attack back in 91 and is still ticking quite well today. Its not a pleasant process, nor an easy recovery, but a mild heart attack, caught in its fairly early stages has a pretty solid recovery rate man . . . all the best.

I think I read that people who knew they were being prayed for had a slightly lower chance of full recovery.

Sorry to hear that man. I was mid exams when my dad has a severe heart attack in Chicago. They took him to the hospital and had to force another heart attack. Scared me pretty good.

Mild heart attacks are much easier to recover from.
