SNES: Spiderman – Separation Anxiety was a fun 2 player game with cameo’s of other marvel characters that allied spiderman and venom to good effect, even if it did get a little monotonous from time to time.
Gamecube: X-men legends 1 & 2 are by far the best X-men games I’ve ever played. XL2 had a lot of age of apocalypse influence which I enjoyed.
X men 3 movie game was a game that I heard was bad before I got it, but it featured my favorite character nightcrawler so I got it anyways.
Marvel Nemesis was another game I heard bad things about, but I was impressed by it a lot. I thought it would be more of a 2-d fighting game, I didn’t realize it would have 3-d levels and a single player mode of this caliber.
Wii: Ultimate Alliance looks great, I haven’t tried it yet, but once the Wii price comes down then it will be one of the first games I own for the Wii. Did this game also come out for the Ninento DS?
I’ve played other marvel games growing up, but don’t remember the specifics. I suppose this thread could include other entertainment systems and DC games too (I did like a superman game where enemies could hurt each other on SNES I believe). But since I’m mostly into Nintendo, and Marvel, they are the ones I can rate. If there are any other really good Nintendo games of this genre that I don’t own, I’ll look into purchasing them if I hear good things about ‘em. 2/4/2007 9:20:34 PM |

ultimate alliance is a lot of fun. I've played it for ps3 and 360 but I haven't played it on wii yet. If the wii version is anything like the other 2 it'll be a winner. 2/4/2007 9:35:29 PM |

I haven't rented a game in a few years, I just got the point where if I think I'll like it, I'll straight up buy it. I don't know how that transition really happened, b/c pre-college it was always the case that I'd rent before buying... now it just feels like a waste of money. 2/4/2007 10:02:22 PM |

X-Men for Nintendo confuses me to this day.
Wolverine for Nintendo was alright, but by the time it came out I had moved on to Genesis. 2/5/2007 12:26:11 AM |

X-Men: Children of the Atom Marvel Super Heroes X-Men vs. Street Fighter Marvel vs. Street Fighter Marvel vs. Capcom Marvel vs. Capcom 2
Except for X-Men: COTA (which is kinda slow compared to the others), these are by far the best fighting games featuring Marvel characters. I still pop in MvC2 every once in awhile even though I suck at it. If Activision didn't have the rights to the Marvel Universe, some of the games would have a loyal Xbox Live following. 2/5/2007 1:10:43 AM |

I never did understand why these games got high praise. They became extremely repetitive for me. I think they would have been more enjoyable if they were more difficult. I ended up playing through the game not assigning any mutant powers until the enemies got difficult enough to merit assigning a few powers here and there for a needed boost. The enemies never got hard. I finished the game without assigning any mutant powers.
I did end up going back and assigning some powers on another pass, just to see if not using powers is what ended up making the game so dull for me. The powers just made it that much easier - the game just wasn't as fun as it could have been had it been more difficult.2/5/2007 8:52:18 AM |

Well of course it was boring if you punched and kicked your way through instead of zapping, blasting, and teleporting, and only tried out the powers after you'd experienced the whole game.
^Did you play it alone, or play it through with someone else. The multiplayer option/mechanics it was something I enjoyed. 2/6/2007 6:47:46 AM |

those games usually arent very fun without friends. they're alright, but not for more than 1 playthrough. 2/6/2007 8:36:34 AM |

I really enjoyed spiderman 2 the videogame for xbox. It was a sandbox style game so you could pretty much go anywhere in the City as spiderman. However the missions could get repetitive as you tried to complete some of the goals. 2/6/2007 11:01:54 AM |

I had spiderman 2 for gamecube and really enjoyed it as well... I'd forgot about that one.
Marvel Nemesis: Rise of the Imperfects is something I'm still playing through right now and is surprisingly good... especially considering its price since gamecube games aren't all that expensive any more. 2/6/2007 1:34:14 PM |

x men: mutant apocalypse for Super Nintendo was a generic side scroller/beat em up, but i enjoyed it. it was certainly one of those games that was hard to the point that you threw your controller at the screen. 2/6/2007 1:41:43 PM |

Has anyone seen these? I was always a fan of the animated spiderman & x-men series (i have some of the x-men on vhs, and some of the spiderman like the venom collection they released on dvd), so I thought these have a shot at being worth while.
Amazon has a buy both option for $22.98.
Or those & the iron man movie for $53.99.

Blade, X-Men, Spider-Man, Daredevil, Hulk, Electra, Punisher, & Fantastic Four.
With all these, several of them being series, I'm sure there are plenty more "official movie games" to come. I usually feel that official movie games are very hit or miss.
