yeah, i use one on my computer, they sell the controller with the driver included, but you can also just get it from the microsoft website. the only problem is with the analog controls (ie the triggers and joysticks dont get detected correctly or at all) so you have to use a third party program to map the controls out. still a pretty sick controler for the computer though. 2/5/2007 11:15:10 PM |

some newer games come with the 360 controller already mapped out for the game.
My xbox 360 controller works great for Flight Sim X, but even though the mapping comes loaded, I still had to download the driver from the microsoft website.

It would have really been worth my while to download, resize, and upload it again.... or not. I guess I could have just linked the picture but I didn't realize the picture was large at the time nor that people would be browsing on 800x600 computers and complain. 2/6/2007 11:04:26 AM |

You can buy one of these, and all of your wireless controllers (wheel, joystick, etc) and headsets will work on your PC.

heh, I'm currently (litterally right now) integrating an xbox 360 controller into a EOIR camera control... Very similiar to that bomb squad robot deal... its for an actual corporate border security product.
microsoft.com has the driver you need to get a wired version to play nicely with windows...
fun fact is that the triggers are also 16bit analog resolution... they aren't buttons... they are +/- for the respective side, so if both are down its the same thing as having both fully up b/c they cancel each other out (-32640 and + 32640) and they are counted on the same axis report...
it has 10 buttons + the X, 3 axis's and the dpad (which only reports degree position not incremental I.e. down = 180 up = 0 etc) 2/8/2007 3:55:36 AM |
