Anyone know what TOB's spring game format is like? I believe I saw somewhere that he actually runs it like a game compared to the style Amato used (which was about as boring as watching paint dry). It would be awesome if someway we could get a large turnout of students/fans to attend this game. Some schools have 50,000 attend a spring game, I know that we could never get that many for a NCSU Spring Game, but 20,000 should be our goal. Is the SWC planning on organzing anything? Much less, it's a great excuse to go out to Carter-Finley and tailgate.

I refuse to believe that anything TOB does can be more exciting than Chuck.

Less infuriating? Sure. Less boring? No.

Chuck was worried about losing QBs in the spring game like he did in his last couple years at FSU.

April 14th is a day I've seen rumored, I don't think there is an official day yet. I believe Spring Practice starts the 12th, when the guys get back from Spring Break.

??

Would be great to advertise this,,, SWC? Wolfpack Marketing?

yeah, the Orange/White game at Tennessee was always fun as hell. Everyone would get hammered and stumble over to Neyland, cops were a lot more relaxed at the game, you could drink right there in the stadium as long as you werent a tool about it.

The day cops let us drink at CF is the day that marijuana will be legalized.

they let you drink in peace in the 'alumni' lots where the LSR-holders park.

when i got mine, we were tailgating and my little brother (underage at the time) was drinking. i was like "put that away, the ATF will bust you." We didn't see anything like that once in the whole season.

my family has LTR's and we have always parked in that lot. I usually have a crowd of about 10-20 folks my age over there drinking before/after games and we've never had a problem. Of course, we are all atleast 21, but it's not like we look like we're 60 or anything. Never had a problem, very surprised considering the behavior of some people.

but back to the topic, does anyone know of a way we could organize something? if i knew who to contact or what needed to be done, i would try and get something together. Anyone in the SWC or Wolfpack Sports Marketing have any ideas?

^ what do you mean by organize something? Just tell everyone you know, show up early with food and beer, and have a good time. You can park pretty much anywhere you want, and you can drink in the stadium if you're cool about it.

Any word on a specific date yet? I know it was the second full weekend in April last year, but wasn't sure about this year. Getting tickets at Wrigley this April for the Cubs but I don't want to pick the wrong weekend to go to Chicago - official links or anything????

Maybe they'll let the QBs get hit in hopes of having less of a QB contraversy in the fall.

"Out-of-town NC State football fans who can’t make it to Wolfpack’s 2007 Red & White spring football game on April 14 at Carter-Finley Stadium can watch the entire contest on Pack Pass, the premium portion of http://www.GoPack.com. The game is slated to kick off at 1 p.m.

Since there will be no radio or live television coverage of the game, Pack Pass will be the exclusive source for viewing and hearing the action as first-year coach Tom O’Brien and his squad wrap up spring drills with a full-squad scrimmage. The format for the game will be a regular scrimmage with the first-team offense going against the first-team defense, the second-team offense going against the second team defense and so on.

Fans who want to watch and hear the spring game can go here to subscribe to PackPass, the official source for live and on-demand media for NC State athletics.

Radio voice of the Wolfpack Gary Hahn will do play-by-play for the live webcast. GoPack.com managing editor Tim Peeler will be on the sidelines, covering the game and conducting in-game interviews with some of the former Wolfpack football players Coach O’Brien has invited for a Friday night reunion reception at Vaughn Towers and the Saturday afternoon contest.

Beginning next week, football color analyst Tony Haynes will have exclusive interviews on Pack Pass with O’Brien, offensive coordinator Dana Bible and defensive coordinator Mike Archer.

On game day, the gates will open at noon. Beach music favorites The Embers will entertain tail-gaters from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. in the Stadium West parking lot behind Vaughn Towers. The NC State marching band, the cheerleaders, mascots and the dance team will also be at the game to entertain the crowd, as the Wolfpack looks to host the Triangle’s biggest spring football event.

Concession and souvenir stands will be open on the West side of the stadium."

This is a swpc carryover event, hoping to get some more people out there because of that...I think some of us are gonna go out a little early and tailgate some just to make it a fun day, especially if it is nice...hope other people will have the same idea

This is supposed to be played much more like a real game in contrast to the past years and that should make it a lot more interesting to watch.

I wish NC State was in Charlotte, that way I could attend the spring game. It'd make State and Charlotte that much more cooler. It'd be great hitting up the downtown Charlotte bars, and transplant Hillsborough St. here as well. We'll just trade UNCC and one of our numerous skyscrapers to Raleigh. Raleigh sure could use one.

None of the QBs looked particularly good today. O-line did better than I expected, and Baker, Brown, and Eugene all ripped off huge runs.

Tons of dropped passes and dropped interceptions.
