Trillian used to be awesome. Unfortunately it hasn't been actively released since they started charging for it. A new version hasn't been out in 2-3 years now either, though apparently they're starting alpha testing for the newest version which just looks like a UI refresh of the last version.

ppl pay for trillian pro? You can get it free so easily... I used to like dead aim, until they started to charge ppl for that. They had a cool conversation recorder that was neat and organized. You could search so easily in that.

i still use trillian because the others haven't filled the void as well (especially regarding tabs/containers), although i prefer gtalk. Just need everyone to stop using AIM.

^Miranda does WAY better with containers/tabs than trillian, and uses like 1/5th the memory footprint

eh wasn't impressed by the skin selection with Miranda. Trillian does everything I want it to and there's a HUGE group of people constantly developing skins. I guess personal preference plays a good part here.

having a website up previewing an alpha 2 years after your last release doesn't constitute active development imo, especially when you have paying customers. updates to the program means development.

I'm a loyal trillian user. As far as I know there is no way to use ctrl + for smileys. Just type them out.. or if you must then click on the one you want.
