Count out a pro, macbook wont be much for 1000. Even with the discount your lookin at spending about 1500 after taxes and up grades.

If I had $1k to drop on a computer...I'd just scrape together the extra $200 and get a new one.

The 13-Inch MacBook is $1099. If you're a student, the ED discount might bring it down a bit.

yeah 1g is a stretch already I figured maybe someone got one and might want some money to get a pc instead, b/c we all know pc's are "better"

What you could do....

look up information on osx86, then get on ebay and get a thinkpad (or similar) that is known to work with OSX. Then you do some more searching and googleing, and you will end up with a OSX on a thinkpad (for 400-600 dollars). Kinda gives new meaning to 'think different'
