Time to upgrade from Win XP Pro to Vista Business: ~4 hours (including back up time and uninstalling incompatible hardware)
Time spent talking to sony tech support because their vista drivers (which are even msft signed) don't work (but the win xp audio driver worked under vista for some reason): ~ 2 hours
Time spent restoring the freaking thing back to it's original state: 18 minutes
All-in-all I'd say today was a complete waste of my time. My recommendation to anyone that cares: do NOT bother trying to install Vista yourself. If you want it badly enough, buy a computer with it preinstalled (you can buy a computer with vista on it for only marginally more than just buying the OS anyway).

welcome to last yr... Pretty much everyone knew that by now... if you ever played with the pre-release, you'd know how pain in the ass it was. 2/14/2007 12:54:00 AM |
