Hey, have any of you guys put an emulator on a DS using a GP2X or M3 device? I'm just wondering what the best way to do this is and what kind of price I'm looking at. I'm not really sure what kind of emulator to use or whatever.

Thanks for your help man! I think I might pick one of these up. Are you currently using the m3 Simply? What emulators have you found best to use? Thanks man!

I have the M3 Simply and The M3 Lite. Having both is silly, but I kinda like having 2 slots for MicroSD storage. I use my PSP more for emulators since it is more powerful, but I have tested out emulators for the Game Boy Color, and NES and they seemed to work just fine.

Is modchipstore.com a reliable place to purchase this from or do you recommend I go somewhere else, like diveno?

I've ordered from diveno, and cheapmod.net and never had any problems with either of them. I just picked that link cause it was the first thing google turned up when I did a search. diveno's the same price, I'd go with them if everything else is the same.

Sorry, I was spelling it wrong.

http://www.divineo.com

Also you might want to try divineo.cn as well. Looks like they have the M3 simply in stock where divineo.com doesn't. I have ordered from both sites with no problems. Same company, different warehouses. $5 shipping from China, and surprisingly enough the delivery time is about the same. Last order I placed from divineo.cn arrived at my house in about 5 days.

hmm, everything about the product on that site says that it's a preorder.

yet it says the release date is 2006/12/18...

If you can't find the M3 Simply you can go for the R4 DS - they're both made by R4, have the same features, etc.

I bought my R4 from realhotstuff.com and would recommend them. Coupon code RHS07 gives a 5% discount.

I second the recommendation for http://www.divineo.com

I've used them several times for parts, they have always arrived pretty quick and their prices are damn good.

Yeah, with free shipping and only a supposed 5 day wait for it to be in stock, I'd be all over that.

If anyone's looking for some memory for it, CompUSA has 2GB sticks for $40 on sale this week.

ScummVM for the DS is the greatest.

Too bad it doesn't work with the R4/M3Simply yet, or I'd go ahead and upgrade my M3 Lite.

Andy, you going to be playing emulators on it or mostly ds games?

Probably mostly DS games, but I may put some emulators on it as well.

This thing is actually working out pretty well. Most of the emulation is not perfect, but its still a sweet device. The only thing that gets me, and hopefully they will fix this in a software revision, is you can't soft reset out of a game to go back to the R4 gui.

Other than that, I would recommend this device.

^ have you tried L+R+A+B+C+D.

That's the soft reset for the M3 DS Simply. I thought they were pretty similar devices.

That works for some things I believe, but not for the nes emulator which is too bad. Thanks for the help man.

^if you haven't already, update the firmware to version 1.06, which includes the soft reset function (R+L+A+B+X+Y)
