Ok, my dad just got a new laptop with Vista on it... he somewhat knows how to use a computer once I get everything set up for him. I am trying to setup his hotmail using Windows Mail (which I assume it the Vista version of what used to be Outlook Express) but it does not support HTML access... so I heard that the program freePOPS does this for you, converts the HTML to POP3 which Windows Mail can use...
Anyone have any experiences using freepops? does it work? I dont want him to have anything complicated so once you install it does it run behind the scenes? Do I need to do this at all or is it possible to use Windows mail with hotmail some other way? 3/2/2007 1:56:22 AM |

would it not just be easier to install something that DOES handle HTML? Thunderbird comes to mind. Essentially the same thing as Outlook and just as easy to use. 3/2/2007 9:13:55 AM |

Never seen that, but I will look at it, the point is though I wanted it to be as close to what he was already use to as possible and also I dont use Thunderbird so if he had to call me for help I wouldnt be able to walk him through things exactly. 3/2/2007 11:59:16 AM |

Download Thunderbird. Use it for a few minutes. Tell your dad how to use it. .... Profit from it's superior spam-filtering abilities. 3/2/2007 12:02:26 PM |
