Obama's dad was Kenyan, so it's very likely his direct ancestors weren't slaves (at least not in America).

Assuming reparations ever actually gained any traction, he wouldn't qualify to receive them.

There are plenty of black people whose genetic ancestors owned slaves, be they free blacks who owned black slaves or white slave owners who raped black slaves.

This is important for the same reason that Edwards is a "hypocrite" because he owns a big house and talks about poverty.
