See above.
I have searched google and a few sites say that this is a common problem with laptops. From what I read it sounds like the the connection of the battery adapter has come off the mobo and that it might be able to be fixxed if i reattach it and if that doesn't work then I need a new mobo.
Does this sound correct? What is the cheapest option of getting this fixed?
One place mentioned getting a docking station that will allow me to charge the battery through the station. 3/10/2007 12:33:46 PM |

There are a few people on here with the soldering skills to fix this for you. Ask around and maybe they will offer up their services. 3/10/2007 12:48:03 PM |

This is a dumb question, but are there any laptops that use USB for the AC connection? 3/10/2007 1:24:22 PM |

If anyone has laptop power connector issues, other laptop hardware issues, cosmetic damage or anything of the like, shoot me a PM and I'll take a look at it for a fair price. 3/11/2007 1:04:51 PM |

Not all laptops have the power connections soldered to the board - IBM uses a separate piece that connects to the motherboard and is replaceable. You have to pretty much remove the motherboard to get to it so it's still going to be pretty expensive. 3/12/2007 5:45:43 PM |
