has anyone hit the Nike Sumo Driver yet?

I know it's been out for a while, but I am intrigued by the rectangular shape and enlarged sweet spot.

Anyone?

Yeah I've hit it up at Golf Galaxy. It's not bad. Much heavier than the other drivers, though. It doesn't sound or feel solid, even when you hit it on the screws, but the little virtual driving range thing said it gave me the most clubhead speed and distance. I have an original Sasquatch Tour and I fucking love it. It'll be a while before I trade that bitch in. Go up to Golf Galaxy over off Buck Jones and just hit everything they have. They have a huge selection of used drivers.

if anyone is lookin for part time work and wants to work on the outside operations staff (pullin/cleanin carts, cleanin clubs, etc.) at brier creek PM me. its not the greatest job, but u get to work w/ some good people in a fun atmosphere and it gives u a chance to play for free.

^^I just got back from there

the greens were awful, but everything else was alright

my long game was pretty solid, but once i was on the green it was impossible to read, very very slow to moderate (depending on the hole, with no consistency) and trashed up... i had putts that were bumping the entire way to the hole- i had many holes where I got GIR and ended up with single-triple bog's because of it

but hey, it was still fun to be out there in this great weather (also, it was pretty crowded)

next time I'm gonna stick to the original plan and go to eagle ridge

well, my rooommate wanted me to play lochmere with him

i definately like eagle ridge though- even though it's one of the hardest courses i've played, it's kept in great shape, and yeah- those gps carts are pretty damn cool

Eagle Ridge is a stout test, 6331 yards just from the whites - I shot 75 there one time and felt like I deserved a 69 anywhere else

ive got the F speed. and i love it.

real good driver. but there are better ones out there..

i got mine for a deal because of a connection at a shop.

now they have the LD series, which IMO is the same as the F speed but sounds worse.

if you can find the F speed for a good price, its good to go. if not.

taylormade

haha taylormade ftw- I still use an old TiBubble2- it's got a few years on it, but it still plays awesome- it's the last bag in my club that I'll worry about upgrading- still need to get a 3w, LW, and new irons before i'd even consider looking at new drivers (possibly even a new putter, but mine has sentimental value)

How do you like these?

I looked at the 60's but wasnt too sold on the way they looked, so I bought some Mp-33's off ebay. Fun clubs and the look sexy as hell.

played friday, got rained out on the back nine around 14. Wasn't playing well, so I wasn't too disappointed. My drives were all over the place and I refused to move back to my 3wood . Made some great shots with my 56 and 60 for some tough saves.

the mp-60's are sweet. i also go a mizuno wedge set 52-07,56-13,60-09 and those are absolutely incredible clubs.

i'm all decked out now with cobra speed pro driver,3w and those irons

i've been hitting ping eye 2's my whole life, which aren't exactly a forgiving club, so these mp-60's aren't a bad transition.

I have never hit balls so on point before until i got these clubs...

ive seen this different ways.....

so im setting up for a shot with my driver..

in regards to the right elbow, do you want it tucked into your side (or as close as possible) through your backswing and back down?

D'Oh. playing here http://www.cuscowilla.com/

not at the Reynold's Plantation. Still baller as hell, I am stoked.

^the last couple times i have played i've been keeping my wrist rolled over and more seperation with my right arm. The first two rounds i played I really hit the ball well, played last weekend for the first time in a month and didn't hit it nearly as well. I think its more about what is comfortable to you. I liketo have some seperation b/c it keeps my shoulders and everything in line and on the right plane.

Like ^^ said, it all depends on what feels comfortable for you. Alot of players dont do this because it can feel constricting to your swing. Jeff Maggert is the one person I can remember who does this very well and he hits the ball straight as an arrow.

I dont like it when my swing feels loose, so I somewhat do this because it keeps my swing tight and succinct.

yeah i def. feel a more restricted swing, but from what i noticed, they went straiter.

if i dont have my elbow close, then i can get some big time leverage and hit it out of the park, with 1 out of who knows how many going strait.
haha

haha yep....the same happens for me. Thats why I usally hit it farther when I swing normal rather than trying to knock the piss out of it.

fucking golf

^^like slater said i don't hit the driver as well with a loose swing. I seem to have better consistency and accuracy when i keep it mechanical. Also my drives have more of a flat angle than my iron/approach shots. This may not stay on par with the teachings and pros but it has helped me.

I tend to help or "lift" the ball when i swing loose.

i bought a cleveland. my parents had given me a gift card to dicks a few months back so i walked in and came out with that.

i had been using my fathers on rounds i'd play without him and had gotten comfortable with it. He had a broken in golden bear 60 we found at the beach for 5 bucks.

with the card the cleveland was only 25

last week a guy in the group in front of us threw a hissy fit and broke his club over a grill outside this common area next to the golf course. He then picked it up, walked back to his cart normally, threw the shaft in a fit of rage, walked farther, then threw the clubhead. Has to be one of the funniest things i've ever seen on a golf course.

And I have a new 60 degree cleveland Tour Action (black). 12 bucks once I put the shaft in it.

well lets see...hit the irons and wedges well but putted like i was putting on ice. Drives were suspect, the fade crept back in but it wasn't as bad in the past. Overall it was ok, just good to get loosened up for friday's 18.

That new 60 i bought is oh so sexy.

i played yesterday, and did alright- my driving was a lil suspect, but my putting was on the mark- i made more 10+ ft shots than i have any any previous round that I can remember

gonna hit the range tonite and work on my new 3wood and my new hybrid and see if I can get the kinks worked out of my drive before my round tomorrow at eagle ridge
