i am trying to write a program that can tell how many words are in a sentence and then tell how many times the letters a, e , i , o , u appear in the sentences

google "vb count words in string" it should give you an example

I don't know how far you are in VB but this may be a little too complicated, I dunno, I took it in high school, and we didnt get into this until late in the semester

do you have to use VB?

i'd use Perl if i wanted to do this for real.
