raleigh seems to have a higher rate of idiot drivers than other places. it didn't used to be that way, but the huge influx of people over the past ~10 years has changed things.

it's like the country's worst drivers were all like "hey, lets move to the rdu area".

Raleigh drivers are 10 times worse than the ones in say... houston
but in downtown Charlotte you will be amazed at the retards with licenses.
I mean they never really have to drive anywhere (well more than 2 miles) so i guess they think its cool to forget how.

540 (and 264) always get really slick when it rains, pair that with idiot drivers and you have a lot of wrecks. maybe a CE will chime in on why they seem to be so bad with water drainage.

after living in a couple of other places (VA, FL) and driving a reasonable amount in some more (AL, GA, SC, CA), I have to say that I concur. it's actually one of the first things I noticed the last time I got back home.

I have driven in all of NY state, FL, and most of the NE even some in CA

While some places had just as dumb if not dumber drivers the concentration of them in Raleigh is amazing!
