Why was everyone so opposed to this guy again?
He's got UNLV of all teams in the Sweet 16
Don't get me wrong I'm fine with Sidney but before his name was even being mentioned people on here were really negative about Kruger
Come to think about it most people were really negative about Sidney too. 3/18/2007 3:39:23 PM |

Pretty much all of the coaches we went after have done well this season. Belien is the worst, i think. 3/18/2007 3:44:42 PM |

still had a year of eligibility left
thus the NCAA allowing him to transfer
a lot of redshirt seniors still play after they earn their degree 3/18/2007 3:44:58 PM |

Did anyone else use that new rule?
I think they made it, then immediately cancelled it. He may have been the only person in NCAA history to ever fall under that rule 3/18/2007 3:47:33 PM |

He just went to UNLV after he graduated ASU, thus he didn't have to sit out.
Rule 2005-54, which states: "To permit a student-athlete who is enrolled in a specific graduate degree program of an institution other than the institution from which he or she previously received a baccalaureate degree to participate in intercollegiate athletics regardless of any previous transfer."
Florida DB Ryan Smith (graduated early from Utah) & Vanderbilt QB Richard Kovalcheck (Arizona) also used it

Florida's football team had a DB this year that had followed Urban Meyer from Utah, after graduating, using that rule.
As for Lon Kruger, he was the coach at UF when I was a student there. There are a lot of similiarities to Herb Sendek; both are decent coaches and good people, but don't have a lot of personality. 3/18/2007 7:59:14 PM |

This was the coach I wanted honestly. Look it up in the threads. I defended this guy hard.
Only the 4th coach to take 4 schools to the NCAAs.
He won at Illinois, Florida, and now UNLV. Don't remember his other school? 3/18/2007 10:43:02 PM |
