So I've had my AZ cell phone number for ever, but I need to get an L.A. number for numerous reasons.... I can think of 2 ways of doing this...are there any others? Which would be best?
1. get a basic land line in AZ and pay for call forwarding to the new number (does there need to be an actual phone this goes to?)
2. make my AZ number a voip number that forwards.... My cousins who live in Australia all have 'Arizona' numbers but of course it just forwards to their normal phone...

Is the LA number going to be a cell number?
It might be easier to get an LA number through something like vonage and forward it to the AZ cell. You may not be able to transfer your AZ number to a hard/voip phone because wireless providers are a bunch of cocks. 3/21/2007 7:00:12 PM |

Yah, the L.A. will be a cell number...
hmmm, I guess yeah, I could make the L.A. number be the forwarding one, though would I need to have an actual phone? This whole thing confuses me and I'm quite sure that if I call Verizon they'll give me about as much help as they've ever been (not very) 3/21/2007 7:04:12 PM |

you can port numbers to or from a wireless company and between wireless companies. I had my number with ATT, which then became suncom. I ported it to cingular, then to Vonage.3/22/2007 7:39:10 AM |

When my family got vonage Verizon wouldn't give up our number so we ended up with a new one from vonage. Its not guaranteed. 3/22/2007 8:15:32 AM |

Back in the days, I had two lines on my cell. One was my main line and the other was an 843 number that was supposed to be local to my mom. It was w/ Cingular. I don't know if they still do this though b/c a friend of mine tried, but was told it wasn't possible... 3/22/2007 5:48:36 PM |
