http://texyt.com/silverbrook+memjet+printer+analyis+of+printing+quality FOUND A NEW LINK
Quote : | "New inkjet printer technology that analysts believe will revolutionize the imaging industry was unveiled today by secretive Silverbrook Research.
The company has released astounding videos of desktop, photo and wide-format printers that print pages and photos 5 to 10 times faster than products from current printer market leaders HP, Canon, Epson and Lexmark.
“This thing is gigantic, we've been in this business for 20 years and I've never seen something as mind boggling,” says Charles LeCompte, president of leading printer market analysis firm, Lyra Research.
“The technology will be available in products in late 2007, starting with a 100mm printhead that will be used for home and retail photo printing as well as label printing devices. An A4/Letter printhead will be available in 2008 with many different components and technology improvements planned for the future,” the company announced today.
HP, Canon and other printer manufacturers are described as "potential customers", by Memjet Technology, the main company established by Silverbrook to market and license the technology. The company expects the printers to eventually cost $200 or less, sources say.

The link doesn't work.
Also, this isn't exactly descriptive. I'm mean it's fast printing, but not astoundingly fast. Business class printers have speeds in that neighborhood. Now, if it can do one page per second at 2400dpi with 48bit color.... well, that would be something to brag about. 3/22/2007 11:36:29 AM |

commercial inkjets have been able to do this stuff for a while.
they just managed to scale it down, but I'm still pretty weary of their claims until I can see a cnet or a gizmag do a hands on review. 3/22/2007 1:45:48 PM |

I would wait for the review, too, but think about the return on an investment if this company does take off! 3/22/2007 4:14:42 PM |

i believe it is sun chemicals that is the company to invest in. 2 billion pounds of ink per year worldwide. that sounds like a lot. 3/22/2007 6:14:20 PM |

So, when I buy one of these fuckers is it going to randomly not work worth a shit and break within 3 months or will I get lucky and have it last at least long enough to replace the ink that costs more than the printer? 3/22/2007 6:29:48 PM |

nice, but price per print is what makes or breaks a deal in the Imaging and Printing industry. 3/22/2007 8:27:25 PM |

i wonder what happens when you have that many inkjet heads to get clogged. Think of the ink waste in the declogging cycle. 3/23/2007 9:54:34 AM |
