Miller Safrit (one of Southeast's best recruiting analysts) says Manning is a STRONG State lean and right now he has him #1 in NC, followed by Coples and Maddox. once all the camps are over this summer, all three have a big chance to be *****. robert blanton also has a chance, but right now he favors ND, Mich, UNC

I hope we can land a few of these top LBs. Most of the ones we have now are seniors so they'll definitely get some PT. 3/22/2007 9:09:47 PM |

^^awesome. man i just saw the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie ad on the TV. i think i may take my niece to go see it, just so i can watch it and feel like a kid again. i know random, but it was what i was thinking at the time.
one thing we can do to help get the top players in the state to commit here is continue to provide an excellent gameday atmosphere. we need to get these chants for visiting players more organized. an unofficial TWW committee should be formed to pass out sheets in sections 7 & 8.
V yeah that's a classic.

Manning is a big State lean at the moment, but there's a long way to go. He or Coples will be #1 in NC, and he's definetely one of, if not THE, top LB in the southeast. 3/25/2007 9:41:11 PM |

Manning, Coples and Maddox are pretty much all locks for Top 5 in NC. Manning is supposedly a State lean, Maddox was a state lean early but i think its anybody's game, and im not real sure with Coples. Somebody needs to get him to meet Manny and Mario 3/25/2007 9:58:05 PM |

I'm surprised that no one is really from the northeast so far on the offers. I thought Tom would keep his ties up there for the "worth it" players.
and why don't we have an espn game this year? i'm pretty pissed about that.

It's always good to have former players continue to be around the program, no matter what regime they played under. Their memories at NC State involve more than just their former coaches. There's that one class that had a big impact on them, the campus, all the unique people they met, the roar of the fans and intensity of playing in Carter-Finley Stadium, the parties, the Hillsborough Hike, the football groupies, etc. Besides perhaps one day if they become hall-of-famers and contribute tons of money to the university we might see the Mario Williams Hall for Sports Management, Phillip Rivers Way, or the Manny Lawson Hall dormitory for Engineering Majors.

I thought the Louisville game was going to be a nationally televised game on ESPN? I heard if it was, then it may even be moved to Thursday night primetime.

per the herald sun, Tobias Palmer has committed to the Pack. Both Miller Safrit and james henderson have him as the #10 player in NC so far for next year, although they are VERY early rankings. If true, a very good pickup

sounds like a good pickup. His scout.com profile says his hands need work, and we need depth at CB, so I'm assuming he's coming here to play CB. Who knows though. 3/27/2007 12:09:40 PM |

Handwork can be taught. Speed can't (unless a person just has a messed up running style). Catching the ball, and tucking it right away, breaking away from a defender, etc. can all be taught. His speed and size remind me of A.J. Davis, who had a very productive career here at CB.
Pack Pride is also reporting that a WR by the name of Javon Rembert out of Independence High School likes NC State and is hoping for a Wolfpack offer. Independence is that school out of Charlotte that has the insane consecutive winning record, wins the state championship all the time, and produced Florida QB Chris Leak. 3/27/2007 12:14:33 PM |

oh god dont say he's the next AJ Davis. AJ had like 3 GREAT games but he was a big play waiting to happen (for the other team obviously). Hell, he single handedly lost the BC game for us 2 years ago. Overrated as hell.

Who was A.J. covering during that B.C. game? I can't remember, even though I was at that game up in Chestnut Hill. If it was Blackmon, who I remember had a good game against us, then I can understand if he had problems covering him (nearly everyone in the conference did). 3/27/2007 12:35:53 PM |
wolfAApack All American 9980 Posts user info edit post |
AJ got burned a lot, not just by blackmon. He watched the quarterback and let his man get behind him a lot and gave up a bunch of big plays. It wasnt that he couldnt keep up with receivers, its that he played the quarterback, not the man, which is fucking stupid when you have a great D-line in front of you. 3/27/2007 12:38:14 PM |

jesus with 4.25 speed i'd almost feel like we were wasting it at CB. he'll obviously never get beat deep though. with our depth at WR, CB is probably the best place for him though, and our secondary could surely use the help. 3/29/2007 2:12:22 PM |

If there's no chance, why would he visit? Isn't he limited to the # of official visits he can make? Doesn't make much sense that he would burn one of his trips to a school he has no interest in.
Maybe he's looking to start as a freshman. 4/2/2007 3:09:37 PM |
