Adult Male Dark Gray Tabby, approx. 17lbs
“Guster” a.k.a. “Goober”

Missing since 3/17 at 8pm from Lexington Farms apartments (on the corner of Glen Eden Rd. and Edwards Mill Rd.)

He is not wearing a collar, but is microchipped. He recently had a lump removed on his neck – stitches are still visible.
Please call 593-4302 if you have seen him at all!

We miss him so much! He does not live here (my sister was petsitting him when he got out), so we are really worried he can't find his way back!! Please help!!

(hopefully i posted those right...)

Damn, that's a long hike. Cat lives about 4 miles away.

yes, ive checked the wake animal shelter, and put in a lost cat report to them. i also have an ad on craigslist. he is microchipped, so i'm thinking if he was taken anywhere else, like a vet, he would have been checked for a chip. anyone have any other suggestion about nearby vets/shelters?

also, we've had food out most of the week, and it was eaten on Monday night, and now last night, something ate the food again. but...there's no way to tell if it was him, or another cat that lives in the complex.

^^^where on campus do you think you saw him?? i wonder if 4 miles in almost 7 days is possible?

here's another pic:

My main thought about the 4 miles to campus is that he would not want to cross all of the big roads he would need to in order to make it to campus. But who knows, he's a wierdo sometimes.

Let me know if anyone else has seen him around campus, or closer to where he was lost from.

Cat's have a great sense of direction. When we've moved in the past our cats have gotten out and returned to the houses we had just moved from. So keep an eye out around your place as well. He may have travelled all the way back, but may not be able to find the right apartment.

YAYA!! HE'S BACK!!!!! He randomly showed up on the front step about 30 minutes ago, and although we still had to do a lot of chasing and luring him with food, he came inside!!! he was gone for 7 days, and he definitely looks like he's lost about 4-5 lbs.

Thanks to everyone who was keeping a look out for him!!

i dunno, that would be pretty amazing if he made it over all those busy roads (blue ridge, hillsborough, etc) and back without getting hurt. but who knows. he is a really friendly cat and he does do the rolling at your feet thing. did he have an area on the back of his neck where the hair was a little shorter like it was growing back from being shaved? its almost completely grown back by now, so it is subtle.
