I have absolutely nothing against my sig, but I would like something smaller for carry purposes. Also, I'm a sucker for Kimbers.

^^ I got rid of my Sig looking for something else and don't really regret it. The Sig is a quality gun, but personally, it didn't fit my needs. I'd look into the XDs, and the Glocks as well as the Smith & Wesson Military and police models. The last one has the potential to take over the current XD market IMHO. I don't know anything about the Kimbers besides my experience with their 1911s.

I'm a fan of Kimber 1911 styles but I'm not as familiar with their polymer models...as far as polymer I'm a fan of Glocks and Springfield XDs

unless you wanna go all out for a FN 57
