i thought this was going to be about the documentary of the same (similar?) name that's out about the last performance of the full wu lineup.

also: if i know anything about hip-hop shows -- i bet 25% of the acts don't show.

An aquaintance of mine is taking her 15 year old daughter and 3 of her friends, as a birthday present.

she doesn't know who wu-tang or rage is, and has no idea what to expect.

I cant wait to hear the story

??? $83 isnt that bad for all of that... I mean, ok, it is in reality but in comparison to other overpriced "festivals" its cheap

Public Enemy, The Roots, NAS, EPMD, the WU, Cyprus Hill, MOS and Rage

wow...awesome line up

esp. if Hi-Tek gets on stage and Rahzel beat boxes

well supposedly that countdown website above is being hosted by Live Nation, and there are rumors that when the 4 day countdown gets to zero there might be an announcement for a full-scale RATM tour

I actually heard it tonight on the live show "The Sauce" that the Fuse Network shows

I figure if a music network is going to talk about rumors like this they must have some sort of ground to stand on

I really really really hope its true

also, there are two countdowns on that website, one for 4 days from now (7:10am on Monday June 11th), and another for midnight on August 24th - which is after the Rock the Bells festival series ends

i love rage's first CD, a lot. Esp. for when it came out it was something a little different. The only problem I ever had with rage was that I really felt like once I had heard that first album I had heard them all. I bought the first 3 but I still only listen to the first one if I want to hear Rage. Sure the actual riffs themselves didnt sound the exact same but the style of songwriting didnt really change.

However, Im not bashing Rage, i still love me some RATM and would like to see them live once, I just wished they branched out more.

well the first countdown on the http://www.ratm82407.com website came to an end this morning and it was counting down to the announcement for another Rage show...on August 24th at the Alpine Valley Music Center in East Troy, Wisconsin

its not an announcement for a full-fledged tour, but the fact that they are playing another show after Rock the Bells in a random location is promising for the band to stay together for a while

so, good news and bad news, I guess

Show in NYC was awesome. It poured rain for the first 3 hours which really got the diehard fans into it.

Mos Def & Talib Kweli -- totally awesome, blackstar reunion...

Cypress Hill -- rocked the place

MF Doom -- had everyone going until Wu-Tang came on

Wu-Tang -- played all their old tracks, almost nothing new despite their set being "from the new album"

Rage -- what can I say besides that they kicked ass. You could tell the band was so much happier not being in Audioslave anymore. Well worth the money just for them to play.

Best concert(s) (I went both days) I've been to in a loooong time.

I enjoyed the rainy second day a lot more, and I think there were more people there...but the crowd was a bit more hyped and crazy for Day 1

yeah nas was even in the booklet thing in the lineup and i was kinda pissed he wasnt there. but its all good i got to see immortal technique on the main stage. yeah the breakdancing thing by iamhiphop.com was pretty cool, just kind of a smaller crowd around the mat. it was open though so only a few people were actually really good. i was looking at the population of greenville though just to get a comparison and there were about as many or more people at that show than reside in the city limits of my home town - pretty crazy.
