I know our resident UConn fan isnt going to like this thread but i had to do it.

Look the whole Ryan Gomes thing was hilarious. The media deserved that one and that was possibly the funniest collegiate rant ever.

The Marcus Williams incident left a bad taste in everyones mouth.


But the fact that he is PUBLICLY forcing kids off the team to clear scholarships for new recruits is absolutely disgusting. Look, its one thing to be hush hush and force a kid to eat a turd sandwich and take his sorry ass to DII. But to OPENLY state they are being forced to transfer because they suck??? What a scumbag.

Even Coach K has been nice about it when he's forced kids like Shavlik and McRoberts out the door.

Eh, he's honest to a fault with his kids. I don't like some of the stuff he does but what can I do? In his defense he's one of the few that actually advises the kids who are ready to leave for the NBA to do so at the right time, unlike a lot of coaches.

I really don't care if people don't like him or UConn. They win a lot more than most programs and they have a loudass, can't control his mouth Northeast coach; so people will hate.

he means that K keeps a public/media front, and does this shit behind closed doors, therefore any claims we make against K are unsubstantiated rumors and hearsay

^ Pretty much. I men it was no secret that he wanted Shav gone and pushed him out the door. He just didn't outright say it to the media.

Calhoun is a good guy with all the charities and the V foundation stuff he does but I can't disagree that he is, at times, morally questionable when it comes to the basketball team. He never does anything that would put UConn in danger of being on probation but he isn't the most ethical recruiter in the world..

I'm not going to post here anymore because it will turn in to a flamewar..

didn't roy do basically the same thing with little wes miller. told him that he was taking away his scholly just so he could get some high profile blue chippers on the roster (including one that red shirted this year)

this isnt a discussion about Roy and Wes Miller

it was pretty clear from the start Wes gave it up for one of these McDs and its also clear that he comes from a family with money to pay for him to be at UNC and im also sure he is getting it paid for by boosters, you can be as blind as Ann Frank and see that

everyone knows Roy isnt on the scumbag asshole level Calhoun and K are, thats just stupid
