I'm going to go ahead and say he's going to Florida or Memphis. Florida will have a lot of openings next year.

He mentions Memphis first in the article, so obviously we arent the favored of the 3.
From what Ive read, we dont want the guy and dont really need him. We are stacked at power forward. We also dont have the scholarships. 4/8/2007 5:02:07 PM |

oh, my bad. Then a mild . Still don't see why he would pick us over Memphis, though.

Maybe we can trade him to a team with too many guards.

Look, if he mentions NC State that we have been doing at least some recruiting, and therefore we probably have the scholarship issues worked out on paper.
It's not like one of the top 3 highs school players is just gonna say "I like NC State, I hope Lowe will let me come there"
I personally think he is kind a douchebag, but not in the same class of douchebag as Mayo. I would put him in the class of McCants, loved by his fanbase in spite of his faults, but hated by everyone else. 4/8/2007 5:31:54 PM |

Beasley's mother, Fatima Smith told The Topeka Capital-Journal and The Kansas City Star that her son would honor the national letter of intent he signed with the Wildcats in November.
"The drama is over," she said. "Yes, Michael will be there [at K-State] for the next school year." " |

god people, ever think that maybe sidney lowe talks to his players about these affairs and scholarship affairs IN PRIVATE before giving this guy a possibility??? scenarios i GUARANTEE are discussed and i GUARANTEE as much as you guarantee the "0% chance" that a plan has had a thumbs up for this to occur, not saying it would hold up even if beasley chose us, but the possibility is there4/8/2007 8:55:19 PM |

Its all posturing by him and his family. If he looks eager to leave then that will further infuriate the Kstate AD and fanbase, making them want to hold him to his LOI and sit out a year : which is exactly what they do NOT want to happen since he is certainly NBA bound after one year and then they all cash in. Its all about getting the best publicity on the way to being the #1 draft pick.
Likely he will end up in Memphis and that greaseball fuckhead Calipari will win the championship (they are already pretty nasty). To think we almost hired that guy and I actually was excited... 4/9/2007 2:46:59 PM |

i'd give him a 82% chance of staying at KSU, 17% chance at going to Memphis, and a 1% chance he breaks the NBA rule and goes pro next year. 4/9/2007 7:43:43 PM |

personally i think he is going to leave K-state if he can get out of his LOI. i doubt he will be able to get out with how pissed the school and AD are. it isn't like K-state is going to scare away big recruits by being dick's to this class. This is the biggest recruiting class they will ever have, it's worth getting the bad rep.
if he does get out, i expect to see him at memphis. nc state and fsu sound like afterthoughts from the interview w/ him. 4/9/2007 7:57:26 PM |

Quote : | "Assistant Hill believes Beasley will be a Wildcat Kansas State’s top recruit has followed the coach since their days in AAU basketball. By HOWARD RICHMAN The Kansas City Star
MANHATTAN, Kan. | Dalonte Hill knows what people are saying. Things such as he’s still on the Kansas State men’s basketball coaching staff for one reason only.
Michael Beasley.
“People can say what they want,” said Hill, promoted to associate head coach of the Wildcats at the young age of 28. “I think they (administration) believe in us, the success we had, and that we can be better. That’s why I’m here.”
If Beasley does indeed come to K-State, Hill would be the main reason why.
Their ties run deep. Beasley, the No. 1-rated player by Rivals.com and the most valuable player in the McDonald’s All-American Game, has followed Hill. First, in the AAU ranks in the Washington D.C. area. Then when Hill was an assistant at Charlotte, where Beasley made an oral commitment.
When former K-State coach Bob Huggins hired Hill away from Charlotte, it didn’t take long for Beasley to shift gears and sign with the Wildcats. Recently, though, there have been conflicting reports as to whether Beasley is coming. Hill said he spoke Monday with Beasley and has no doubt that he’ll be a Wildcat.
“I did a lot of the work to recruit him,” Hill said. “If he decided to leave, it would be my fault as well.”
K-State senior-to-be David Hoskins is glad that Hill was retained no matter what happens with Beasley.
“He’s a player’s coach. I know if he was my AAU coach, I’d be coming here for sure,” Hoskins said. “He just knows how to relate to guys. He’s young. He’s kind of on the same page we are.”
Hill will be surrounded by familiar faces on the bench. Besides Frank Martin being elevated to head coach, Brad Underwood will move from director of operations to assistant coach, while Andy Assaley got promoted from video coordinator to director of operations.
Martin said assistant Erik Martin will join Huggins’ staff. Hill added that strength coach Scott Greenawalt probably will stay with the Wildcats." |
I guess that puts an end to any hope i had that we would get this kid4/10/2007 12:23:36 PM |
