* this drive should work to add capacity to a dvr if used with an e-sata case

lemme tell you if you have an hd dvr its well worth it.

not letting it go for less than 60 for sure. Like i said it hasn't even been taken out the box it was shipped in. Otherwise I'll just keep it. I mean it's not exactly what i wanted but it's not like it's bad either. Definitely not taking a great loss to get rid of it, I'd rather just have a smaller drive than what I wanted.

v Newegg won't exchange an RMA for a different product (only replace with the exact same or refund). and they charge a 15% restocking fee.
so I would get $57 back, minus the shipping and handling to send it. Then I'd have to pay the s&h on the new drive. If I can sell it to someone for @60 I don't lose as much and they get a deal, good for everyone involved.

There's a 500gb sata 10k on fry's for like 115 so asking $50 for this isn't that bad of a deal honestly.

I think you may have misread something.

Fry's has some great deals right now. But i didn't see any SATA 10000rpm drives.

Can you give me the link? (I'd buy it right now if what you say is true)

10000rpm drives are usually small (and expensive, not even close to what you're talking about). I know the WD raptor is available up to 150gb i think, that's sata1.5 (my understanding is that currently SATA 3gb is only better on paper because the 1.5 bandwidth is never fully used anyway). But the storage isn't there. Good for running the OS off of and resource intensive programs, but you'd probably want another drive for storage.

here's a list of 10k rpm drives from newegg, notice the prices. (99 for a 36gb WD SATA1.5) I don't know about these Raptor drives specifically but Western Digital doesn't have the best track record with me.

raptors are teh sweet.

and i would also like to see a link to that HD on Fry's that's 500gb 10k rpm for $115. that would be unbelievable...

^ would you be interested in a trade for a 250gb external ide usb drive? i paid $100+ w/ tax for it only a few months ago. I know its not sata or as big as you initially wanted but its external so thought that might spark your interest.
